I've spent the last couple days hot footing it around NYIGF, checking out the latest & greatest from a lot of our favorite brands. I spent most of my time in Design & Baby and Child but was happy to catch a couple great finds from a section dubbed NY Newest.
From new twists on our fave funky backpacks to pattern mixing on porcelin plates here's a mashup of things that will be on our store shelves soon or simply inspired us!
There are a few great pieces left in the Babesta Floor Sample sale, so check them out. Or let us introduce you:
I’m a light gray crib, about 40 inches tall, I am made from sustainable managed forests. I love babies & would definitely contribute to sound sleeping and sweet dreams.
Hey, I’m Otto and I am the perfect playmate. I bring the creative spirit out in everyone. I am 21 3/4 inches tall, strong & sturdy, and of course, as you can see I’m blonde. Sorta the Fabio of playtables…
4 Drawer Dresser
I’m easy going, and can fit into almost any environment seamlessly. With 4 drawers, I can hold lots of clothes, toys, you name it. I’m about 34 inches tall and I’d love to find a modern crib or bed to complement.
I’m a light wood work of perfection. Style is my middle name. My sleek lines are just the start though. I’m comfortable and nurturing. And doggone it, babies love me.

Although our racks are almost bare, we still have some great stuff in each size left from Fall on sale! We are getting ready for spring of course, but boy the weather's not. Snap up some 'warm things' that will hold you over until the sun is shining toasty & bright. Some puffers, mittens, hats, hoodies & sweaters in sizes 0-12.
We had a great time crafting for the window this week. We made some pretty nifty hanging geometric "lanterns" out of neon colored plastic straws and ribbons. They give a little dimention to our window and give our little Uglydoll models a super cool environment. We were inspired on Pinterest (go figure!)
We think that these would also make for a great, simple party decoration! Hang them over the birthday table!
First gather your materials! You'll need ample amounts of neon straws, curling ribbon, scissors and fishing wire to hang.
Cut the straws in half and then take 3 halves. Feed the curling ribbon through the staraws.
Tie the string with the three straw halves to form a triangle and tie it off.
Now take 3 of your triangles and lay them flat. Tie them into one big triangle.
With your one remaining triangle, tie it to the top of your large triangle so it should look like this.
Next bend the 4th traingle at the top down and tie it to the bottom triangle on the left bottom side. At this point it should look like this.
Now all that is left is to tie off those two triangles at the bottom with string and you should end up with a 3D diamond. and Voila!
Now it's time to hang them with the fishing string!
Check out our first “Lookbook”! Hope you like it!
One trend that ran strong this season was face prints. Jackets, sweatshirts, hats and tees boasted big eyes and animated looks to add some whimsy to kids’ fashion. We’ve paired tops, hats and jackets by Mini Rodini, Bobo Choses and Munster Kids with fab colorful denim by ESP No. 1 and Munster Kids. Here are some of Babesta’s duds that are, as we’ve pointed out, “About Face.”
We're running our annual floor sample sale at Babesta Cribz, making way for new styles and models. We always try to rotate what we have on the floor once a year, so that we have the "space" to show as many differnent cribs, dressers and beds that we can. We know how important it is to be able to see them in person, touch them and really understand the scale and quality. It's great for us too to have our "in store" experience putting them together. Anyway, we have some great pieces and some favorable prices, so if you're in the market, now's the time! Babesta Cribz, 56 Warren Street, NYC 646 290 5508.
