Join us! We're super excited to be reupping our Xtreme Playdates! We have the pleasure of making masks with a fashion prop stylist, Alexandra Egan! She's put together this craft (that I have been dying to do for over a year). It should be a blast. Space is limited, so call us and reserve your mask today!!! Details below :)

CANstruction at the World Financial Center

Got to visit CANstruction yesterday night at the WFC — it was pretty impressive–a host of large scale sculptures created out of canned goods, from SPAM to tunafish to Goya beans. Constructed by design teams, the exhibit raises interest and money for fighting hunger. At the end of the exhibit, all cans will be donated to community food banks. I think Babesta should do one! It doesn't look easy but it sure looks fun!

The Babesta Window – Behind the Scenes!

We had a great time crafting for the window this week. We made some pretty nifty hanging geometric "lanterns" out of neon colored plastic straws and ribbons. They give a little dimention to our window and give our little Uglydoll models a super cool environment.  We were inspired on Pinterest (go figure!)

We think that these would also make for a great, simple party decoration! Hang them over the birthday table!

First gather your materials! You'll need ample amounts of neon straws, curling ribbon, scissors and fishing wire to hang.

1 the ingredients

Cut the straws in half and then take 3 halves. Feed the curling ribbon through the staraws.

3 run ribbon through straw

Tie the string with the three straw halves to form a triangle and tie it off.

5 tying ribbon
6 tying ribbon 2
Now take 3 of your triangles and lay them flat. Tie them into one big triangle.

7 making triangles

With your one remaining triangle, tie it to the top of your large triangle so it should look like this.

Next bend the 4th traingle at the top down and tie it to the bottom triangle on the left bottom side.  At this point it should look like this.

4 stringing the straws

8 making the cubes

Now all that is left is to tie off those two triangles at the bottom with string and you should end up with a 3D diamond.
9 holding the cube
and Voila!

11 pre hanging straws
Now it's time to hang them with the fishing string!

Check out our new Babesta Mini-Lookbook! “About Face”

Check out our first “Lookbook”! Hope you like it!
One trend that ran strong this season was face prints. Jackets, sweatshirts, hats and tees boasted big eyes and animated looks to add some whimsy to kids’ fashion. We’ve paired tops, hats and jackets by Mini Rodini, Bobo Choses and Munster Kids with fab colorful denim by ESP No. 1 and Munster Kids. Here are some of Babesta’s duds that are, as we’ve pointed out, “About Face.”

Floor Sample Sale at Babesta

We're running our annual floor sample sale at Babesta Cribz, making way for new styles and models. We always try to rotate what we have on the floor once a year, so that we have the "space" to show as many differnent cribs, dressers and beds that we can. We know how important it is to be able to see them in person, touch them and really understand the scale and quality. It's great for us too to have our "in store" experience putting them together. Anyway, we have some great pieces and some favorable prices, so if you're in the market, now's the time! Babesta Cribz, 56 Warren Street, NYC 646 290 5508.
