We are super psyched to have partnered with Uprise Art to present artist Rebeca Raney at Babesta! We took down our awesome pink unicorn from our arched wall, and the folks from Uprise proceeded to hang a series of Raney’s black and white paintings on wooden plaques against our grey wall. Her style is simple and her subjects are mouthless (much like our fave feline, Hello Kitty) yet seem to inhabit a happy world of flowers, llamas and flowing hair.
Raney, born in 1980 in Miami, now creates her artwork from her Brooklyn studio. She recently collaborated with Madewell for a capsule collection, and had a solo show at the prestigious Art Basel Miami. We’re stoked to have her in the house at Babesta! Check out her work in the store at 56 Warren Street, NYC or online at www.babesta.com/rebecca_raney.

Mini Rodini loves Snow Leopards this season and so do we! Their animal prints are always super fun, but the snow leopards are especially cool this season. We’re kind of all about the Snow Leopard Sweatshirt (you can even complete the look and grab the ear hat here); it’s a great way to express your child’s wild side and it’s super cozy. Or you can go extra wild with the Berlin Cheetah Jeans which add a great pop of color on any dreary winter day. Or you can go uber-wild and do both. Whatever you decide to do, let us know in the comments! We love hearing about what awesome outfits you come up with…
We’re super excited right now, since we just received part 3 of our Mini Rodini shipment! We’ve officially received everything for Fall/Winter 2013 from this designer, which means we get to get busy doing one of our favorite things: creating outfits! We’ll be posting about all this new stuff – and there is a lot of it – for a while to come, but we’ll give you a sneak peak….
Since we check everything out upon receiving which entails unfolding everything, I held this one up and I’m pretty sure I’d fit in the biggest size we carry. The sleeves would be a little short, but I kind of want it…
This Snow Leopard sweater is definitely one of our favorites. It’s the perfect mix of wild and cozy for this winter.
Pandas and Bowties!? And TOP HATS!?!? Where’s the interobang key when you need it? This jacket is too cute for conventional punctuation.
Maybe you guessed it already, but we’re a little wild over the snow leopard prints this season. But come on, how can you not be super excited about them?
Every now and again we switch up the floor at Cribz to move another piece on that we haven’t shown in a while. We’re selling our FS of Kalon Studios Caravan Crib and Dresser to make way for something else super stylish (you’ll see!) Since Kalon is usually a bit of a wait, this could provide a nice edge to an eager parent-to-be looking for one of the flyest nurseries out there. We adore this crib & its pop of color!!! Come in & see it or call us at 646 290 5508.
Enjoy and please share! We are thrilled to be able to introduce the Mimi & Magic Forest video! We had so much fun with the Mimi story, we couldn’t stop at still pictures. We really wanted to offer up a living, breathing fashion story, featuring the highlights of the store (Oeuf cribs, Bugaboo strollers, cool knit toy pigeons & taxi ride ons and of course our range of cool indie fashion — Mini Rodini, ESP No. 1, La Miniatura, Munster Kids!)
Listen to the store of Mimi, a city girl who finds herself in the country & embarks on a magical adventure!
Be sure to comment on Youtube! Tell us what you think! Where should Mimi go next? We’d love to hear your ideas!

It’s a real menagerie of strollers these days between the Cameleon, Donkey, Bee, and now the newest in our “zoo”, the Buffalo! This stroller is hearty, with big wheels for negotiating rugged terrain. The carry handle is tested with weight on it so it’s kosher to hang your diaper bag on it without worry of affecting chassis. The extendable handlebar is huge so can give the perfect push for someone tall and someone diminutive. The under seat basket is supersized as well giving it lots of storage space, and it folds all in one piece making it easy to get into the car or store away! In essence, we dig it! Pop in the store and give it a whirl )
In Round One of lightweight strollers we brought you two amazing contenders: the Maclaren Volo and the Uppababy G-Lite. This week, we’re taking things up a notch and bringing you not two but three next level lightweights. We think you’ll be impressed…
We’re in a new weight class with these three contenders; the G-Luxe weighs in at 13.4 pounds. But with that new weight class come more features! In addition to the standard water and stain resistant, machine washable, removable seat pad, the hand level, finger folding triggers, the stand alone capabilities, and the extendable, SPF 50+ sunshade (it’s a lot, but it gets better), the G-Luxe introduces reclining capabilities to the competition. This stroller reclines with one hand and features an adjustable footrest for when your child needs to nap on the go.
Slightly heavier at 6.2kg (13.6lbs), the Triumph’s seat adjusts from upright to 123°. Like the Volo, it features a five-point, two-finger release harness, water resistant and SPF 50+ protected hood, standard, included rain cover, one hand fold, attached carry strap, one-step, foot-operated linked breaks, and washable fabrics.
Up until now, we’ve been featuring strollers for children 6 months to 55lbs; now we’re throwing the Quest into the mix which has features for newborns as well. Weighing in at 6.4kg (14.1lbs), the Quest has all the same features as the Triumph but with some added goodies. It features a protective newborn cocoon for the extra little ones and a viewing window in the hood so you can keep an eye on them. It transitions between its four reclining positions at the touch of one hand. It includes an adjustable leg rest. And, for added safety, it has reflective accents for nighttime. It may weigh a little more, but we think it’s worth it.
Which weight class do you prefer? Which stroller are you betting on? Let us know in the comments!
