With the new back-to-school season here, it’s time to size up your kids’ closet and hit the refresh button. But where to start? Check out Babesta’s top tips on how to make a style splash this season and shop with purpose, hitting the trends with separates that will mix and remix with swagger.
Any fun beach ideas? Swimming in the beach. Mhmm sounds good. Tanning. Hmm. Collecting shells. Ooo. Building Sand Castles?! O.M.G.!
While looking through our awesome Pinterest site, we came across a sand castle and decided, “Why not search and look for more followers who created their own sand castles!?” We discovered so many sand castles that were created by young children, adults, to professionals. All we can say is, “WOW!” At Babesta, we love summer and everything that makes summer fun– from BBQs to pool days, to Water parks to Lemonades. We can see that making sand castles are definitely a fun way to spend your time at the beach!! We created a fun slideshow filled with sandcastles that were posted by some of our social media websites’ members!
Thank you to: kirill_lopatin (Instagram), Raddus (Tumblr), Jayla Rodri (Pinterest), the Sane Mom, Ashley Bennett (Pinterest), and Jon-e (Flickr) for showing us your bizarre sandcastle creations!
We decided to jump on the DIY wagon (partially inspired by last week’s Etsy party) and we grabbed some old tees that had been damaged and decided to fashion ourselves a new pair of rockin’ summer flip flops. This is an easy one that any kid who can handle a pair of scissors can do. . .
1. Gather some of your old, too small, favorite rock tees
2. Cut it up into strips & tie the strips around the flip flops, making it dense & fluffy.
3. You have the perfect pedicure flops. Black polish please!
We spent Memorial Day weekend in the Berkshires, shooting an editorial style “story” for Babesta in the woods. (You can take the girl out of the city…) We rented a U-haul and brought up cribs, strollers, Fall 2013 fashions and more! There was definitely a point in time that I thought I had totally lost it (light rain, wind & back-breaking set building) – but the result will be beautiful, thanks to an amazing team, including photographer Katrina Tang & stylist Michel Onofrio! Stay tuned. Here’s a little behind the scenes peek! (who’s behind that big, big book!?)
We can’t decide which we like better, but here are two color choices for some awesome summer jeans by ESP No. 1 paired with my very favorite indie-spirit “Declare Independence” tee by Mini & Maximus and a cool necklace by our friends at Atsuyo et Akiko. Kids’ style at its coolest. . . Which do you prefer?
