It’s Go Time: Getting Around the Nabe, Made Easy

The Comfort Wheeled Board by Bugaboo is the most anticipated stroller accessory of the season. It invites toddlers to sit or stand while riding. Attaching to the left of right of the stroller, the board also allows parents extra space for easy walking. Another option, try the Lascal Buggy Board that fits multiple strollers, but don’t forget, its standing room only.

Getting around town hands-free is the easiest way to hit the streets with your little one. The assisted piggy back ride position using your Baby Bjorn One Carrier is the position of choice for bigger kids with tired feet. One Carrier makes it easy to move from front to back with its buckle clips, simple color coding and padded waist band and shoulder straps. The simple, chic solution for mobility is our go-to for farmer’s market runs, quick jaunts to the store or just for short walks outside to breather the crisp fall air.

Sit & Stand:

The Micro Kickboard Scooter is a rite of passage for city kids. Breaking free of the stroller, they use their own wheels to roll around the park or head to and from school. We love how the Micro Mini & Maxi handle the city sidewalks. Don’t forget a Nutcase helmet for the ultimate safety in style.

2 for the Road:

City Select by Baby Jogger ~ Hitting the road in the city with two in tow is made easier with Baby Jogger’s City Select. With the most flexibility on the market, it features 16 different positions. Your dynamic duo can be same or mixed age and the stroller can be adjusted to accommodate one or two kids in a jiff. Make any combo of bassinets, car seats and seats. Kids can face in, out, each other or back-to-back. We love its narrow footprint, making it simple to navigate busy city streets. It’s got great staying power too, with seats that can hold up to 45lbs. Got a third child? Add a glider board and go!

City select baby joggerVista by UPPAbaby ~ Great storage options. Check. Flexible seating? Check. Start with one and add a rumble seat to accommodate two with your favorite primary stroller. We love the UPPAbaby Vista, because it provides one of the best single options that can turn into one of the best doubles. Use bassinets or car seats to manage the youngest riders, or use the seat for toting toddlers. Switch it up as you like and add the piggy back board. Now that’s easy strolling, city-style.

Whitney Tour

Kiddos aged 4-5:  Choose from Whitney Wees: Color, Color, Color! or Shape It! In November, Color, Color, Color!, will explore the vivid colors in Frank Stella’s work—engage with shimmering silver surfaces, multicolored stripes, and the dark tones of Stella’s Black Paintings and coming in December (Shape It!) will explore shaped paintings that zigzag across space and look at sculptures made with parts that twist and turn.

Older kids can enjoy sketching tours. Start off in November discovering what inspired Stella’s works. Look closely at his works of art and create experimental sketches based on what you see. Frank Stella was inspired by nature, architecture, literature, music, and art history. Discover how he incorporated these inspirations in his work.

Doughy Delights Stack Up Downtown

bagels blog
New York’s favorite doughy treat gets art star status as the subject of a public art installation, presented by Kiehl’s and Art Production Fund, thanks to Swedish artist, Hanna Liden. Everything, a collection of large sculptural bagels, will be on display at Hudson River Park through the fall. The city icon has been a staple in Liden’s life since she first came across the breakfast bread while living in the Chelsea, hotel, almost twenty years ago. According to Liden, “the bagel-a circle with no beginning and no end- is evocative of the eternal cycle of city life.” Adding her own punk spin, she spray paints the bagel with black, signifying the city’s grime.

Distressed to Impress! Distressing Denim alongside the new Bugaboo Buffalo Diesel stroller and Coloring with Pirasta!

MOVE_bugaboo    It was a madhouse during the MOVE fashion & art event at Brookfield Place this past weekend! Although Friday was a bit umbrella-upturning with hints of Joachim, Sat & Sunday were perfect days for families to hit the mall lifestyle center and partake in the fun participatory activities from gender-bending makeovers, fashionable carnival type games, or walking the red carpet with some handsome soap opera starlugs building their quads escorting swoonerz down a red carpet to the flashing lights of the “paparazzi.”

During the event, Babesta offered up some hands-on fun in-store (as well as black and white cookies & libations) – as we invited shoppers to participate in building our windows! On one side, we had the newest hottest gift for holidays debuting super sized! Pirasta’s coloring posters were showstoppers, inspiring both “color within the line-types” and “free spirits” to stop and color with us. On the other side, we debuted the new uber cool Bugaboo Denim x Diesel stroller that sat atop a denim drop cloth. We invited shoppers to help us “Distress to Impress”. We brought all the implements you’d need and we ripped, painted, grated, cut and tweezed the denim into stylish submission!
