Nook sets the standard in cool, organic mattresses, so when we saw that they jazzed up feeding pillows (notoriously un-chic) we were over the moon. Dubbed the “Niche,” the feeding pillow is organic in and out and made in America. Breathable and comfy, it can also be used as a prop seat for a baby or a side sleeper for mom or dad. The cover is made of organic cotton and eucalyptus, while the core is fashioned from organic kapok. It fits the Babesta niche just right!
We have now lived with the newest version of the Bee stroller for a month or so and we are really digging it. We can’t get over the cool style of the structured bassinet that looks super comfy and easy to manage. The agile stroller is easily matched with the narrow city streets and aisles of your favorite shopping spot and the foldability is a snap.
Not only did Bugaboo amp up the bassinet feature of the Bee, but they also added an extendable sun canopy that’s UPF 50+ protected, and increased the size of the underseat basket. There are a number of other tweaks and improvements for the city stroller, including a reinforced chassis, better rain cover and 5-point harness.
And this customizable stroller has so many color options, it’s really “as you like it.” Choose from an aluminum or black frame, seat and bassinet fabric in dark khaki, red, gray mélange or black and then select one of eight different canopy colors: off white, dark khaki, bright yellow, red, soft pink, ice blue, gray mélange or black.
For on the go, this one’s got game! Come into the shop to check it out and give it a stroll or see it online.
Shopping for a high chair is not as tricky as for a stroller, but there still are some things you may want to consider. Do you need it to fold up, or multi-task? Wipe clean in a jiff or transition to a desk chair? Whatever you’re looking for, we’ve put together our top picks in sweet seats.
Table Topic #1: Multi-functional, Newborn ready
Although children don’t generally sit up in a high chair until they are 6 months old, some seats can do double duty, acting also as lofted loungers for infants until they make the jump to solid foods. Giving them this lift is great, especially if you have other kids or pets who might be overly interested in the new baby.
Our picks: The Fresco Chrome high chair by Bloom easily transition from lounger to high chair, and, as a high chair, can be adjusted seamlessly from table to breakfast bar level. Of course, with a nod to mod, these chairs make a strong style statement in the kitchen.
Table Topic #2: Easy Clean
One of the biggest concerns with high chairs, since table manners are not included, is the ease of cleaning. You want to look for chairs with minimal or no crevices, easily removable pieces, and materials that can be swiftly wiped down après-lunch.
Our picks: The Nuna Zaaz features a no-crevice design and also has removable dishwasher safe parts. The Oxo Sprout is made of molded plastic and can be wiped down quickly with a damp cloth.
Table Topic #3: Long Lasting
When you invest in a design piece, you want to be able to use it for the duration. They’ll all take you through the high chair years (usually 6 months-3 years) and some can be used long after.
Our picks: Where the Bloom Fresco Chrome has the front end, as the only one from 0+, the Stokke Tripp Trapp and Nuna Zaaz can be used from toddler to adult, each holding over 200 pounds. Both of these chairs can saddle right up to the table or can be used as a “satellite solution” (our words) where baby is backed up from the table with a tray.
Table Topic #4: Easy to Store
Our picks: We love the slim pack-ability of the Nano by Bloom. It folds right up and is easy to store in a closet when not in use.

“I love Instagram because I can tell a story with images,” says Lynn Levoy, a seasoned fashion stylist who’s worked for magazines like Elle, New York Magazine and Vanity Fair. “It creates more of a mood than other social media outlets and allows me to be more personal and take it to the next level.” Levoy has been lending her talent to the Babesta Instagram account and often shoots looks on her 4 ½ year old son, Callum, our cover model. We caught up with her to chat about her fab sense of style and the fun of raising a kid in the city.
What’s your definition of cool?
Rather than “cool,” I like to think in terms of “effortless.” Which for me is the ultimate–creating a vibe without trying.
Do you have a signature style?
I don’t overthink fashion. I dress for my mood. I usually have one thing in mind that I want to wear and then base my outfit for the day around that. I try to pass that on to Callum. I never want him to think of clothes as more than just a form of self-expression, like art.
He’s only 4 ½ but he already has quite a bit to say in terms of what and how he wears his clothes. I just let him do his thing and guide him when I can, so he can continue to develop his own unique style…
How would you describe raising a child in NYC?
…ahhhhhh, where to begin…Beyond amazing because of the amount of exposure children have to so many types of people and the everyday world around them. Challenging for parents for that same reason. There’s so much stimulation on a daily basis and we’re all just trying to find that right balance of parenting, work, social…
I love being a part of Callum’s universe and experiencing life through his eyes.
How do you get ready for back-to-school?
Nothing is better than Back to School shopping ! Each Fall season it still brings back such vivid memories upon returning to school each year. The sheer excitement of those first Fall brisk mornings, bundled and layered with sweaters, jackets, cool scarves, especially after a long hot summer. So, as Callum prepares to return to school this year, I’ve already begun to plan his must haves…
I am all about layering and I think for kids, its essential. They are always running around, inside and outside, so I find they are always hot or cold, never in between. I love long sleeve tees layered with hoodies and cardigans. Bobo Choses’ green hoodie is the perfect layering piece with a pop of color. And as with everything they do, it’s super comfy and
