Big thank you to TimeOut New York Kids for including so many Babesta bests in their holiday gift guide! This is one of our favorite mags for negotiating the big apple with kids!!! http://www.timeout.com/new-york-kids/shopping/holiday-gift-guide
We were blown away when we heard we won the gold Stevie Award for Women in Business, for our Babesta Beat magazine and Mimi & the Magic Forest fashionable children’s story and video. Huge high fives to our amazing team: Chandra Sweet, Katrina Tang, Michel Onofrio, Laura Castellano, Taavi Lindma, Aslan Cattaui and all the amazing kids who took part in it! We are so proud!!!
Enjoy and please share! We are thrilled to be able to introduce the Mimi & Magic Forest video! We had so much fun with the Mimi story, we couldn’t stop at still pictures. We really wanted to offer up a living, breathing fashion story, featuring the highlights of the store (Oeuf cribs, Bugaboo strollers, cool knit toy pigeons & taxi ride ons and of course our range of cool indie fashion — Mini Rodini, ESP No. 1, La Miniatura, Munster Kids!)
Listen to the store of Mimi, a city girl who finds herself in the country & embarks on a magical adventure!
Be sure to comment on Youtube! Tell us what you think! Where should Mimi go next? We’d love to hear your ideas!

We were asked to guest blog for Bubble and Speak & decided to chat about the Punk exhibit at the MET, From Chaos to Couture, that we attended back in May and the synergies the message had on the kids’ market. Of course we were totally stoked, as Bubble and Speak is the awesome blog of one of the most inspirational trade shows that takes place in London and debuts lots of indie brands that we love & follow. Read it here:
To boot we worked up a little smattering of super cool Punk style for kids at Babesta! No, ‘Lil Joey Ramone, we don’t want to be sedated (usually) & we wouldn’t miss any of your adorable declarations of independence, rages against the machine and anti establishment antics!
From top to bottom, left to right:
Splatter shirt by A for Apple; Declare Independence tank by MIMA, Why? tee by NuNuNu, striped leggings by Sourpuss Clothing, shorts by A for Apple, Spraycan tee by Munster Kids, studded belt and Sex Pistols bib by Sourpuss Clothing, Skull soft soled shoes by Chauchas. **Things come in and out of the shop like wildfire, so if you see something you can’t live without, give us a ring & we’ll try to hook you up with it or introduce you to the latest & greatest. We spent Memorial Day weekend in the Berkshires, shooting an editorial style “story” for Babesta in the woods. (You can take the girl out of the city…) We rented a U-haul and brought up cribs, strollers, Fall 2013 fashions and more! There was definitely a point in time that I thought I had totally lost it (light rain, wind & back-breaking set building) – but the result will be beautiful, thanks to an amazing team, including photographer Katrina Tang & stylist Michel Onofrio! Stay tuned. Here’s a little behind the scenes peek! (who’s behind that big, big book!?)
