Snug as a bug- Maxi Cosi car seat!

Posted February 9, 2011 By babesta

Maxi Cosi Mico is maxi comfy with a lightweight design making traveling an ease, while still safe with a 5 point harness and up-front adjustments, Maxi Cosi has the best of both worlds, functionality and style. It also includes a convenient stay-in-car adjustable base; saving time and energy which lets face it we could all use a little extra. The Mico infant car seat is suitable for infants 5-22 lbs.

But don’t forget about the ultra cozy Priori Convertible car seat which allows the car seat to recline into 4 independent positions while installed. This car seat is forward facing from 22-40lbs, 34”-43” but it is also rear facing from 5-35 lbs, 19”-36” which is ideal for infants and works flawlessly with the incline. -IW

The Ergo baby carrier allows parents to carry newborns (with an infant insert) and toddlers weighing up to 45 lbs hands-free with ease. The carrier is designed for an even weight distribution, keeping parent and child comfortable. The Ergo features high quality buckles and one inch high density foam in each of the shoulder straps.

One of the coolest things about this carrier is that it permits three different positions while in use: front, back and hip, all of which are designed to support a correct sitting position for the baby’s hip, pelvis and spinal development. Front carrying is recommended for infants, while for toddlers, hip carrying works well. Bigger kids might be best on the back, in assisted piggy-back style. Different from some carriers, the baby will always face the parent in order to help foster and enforce the parent-child bond. There's also a sleeping hood with elastic that adjusts to support your growing tot. -IW

We might just be Bugaboo's biggest fans, because their buggies are so solidly made. So much so, in fact, we're seeing families using them for three kids in a row – from bassinet to toddler seat to wheeled board and back again.

After the second or third kid has done his tour, though, it might be time for a little sprucing up. At Babesta, we offer a "light cleaning" (frame and spot cleaning), as well as a 'Stroller Spa Menu" from which you can pick what you'd like to update. Check out our before and afters!

How to Change Your Phil and Ted Sport Stroller Fabric

Posted November 23, 2010 By babesta

The city can be gritty and kids can be messy. Spot clean as you may, after a few years of toting your tots around in your inline stroller, the stroller fabric might need a little facelift.  We sell the replacement fabrics for all of the strollers we carrry, and have been asked numerous times about how you actually do the switch. With some strollers, it's not nearly as intuative as it could be – but it's easy with a little guidance.

Changing the Fabric of the Sport Stroller V1 by Phil and Teds [instructions straight from P&T Live Help!]

What you will need: An additional hand (2 people is better than one), and a Philips Head Screwdriver.

Step 1: You will want to remove the canopy first & it helps to have the main seat reclining straps undone too.

Step 2: At the bottom of the main seat are two canvas straps that are attached to the frame—unscrew these from the frame –There is only one attachment point–a metal post on each side of the frame (a few inches below the main handle bar). At the top of the fabric on each side is a metal circular 'grommet' which hooks over the metal post –you will need to lift the fabric's metal grommet off of the metal post. Just use a bit of effort and it will come off…

Step 3: Remove the main handle. Using the Philips head screwdriver, unscrew the handle from the frame, there are 2 screws on each side –  they will be exposed once you lift the metal grommet off of the pegs and slide the fabric down just a bit -

The main seat fabric piece has "sleeves" at each side that slide onto each side of the frame; slide the fabric upward, and off of the frame over the where the handle bar was.

To attach the new one, just reverse the process!

Babesta is the go to spot for stroller 'facelifts'! Just give us a call if you need new fabric for your stroller (646-290-5508). Note – if you have a Phil and Teds Sport Stroller – you will have to know whether you have a Sport V.1. or Sport V.2. – this is printed on the lanyard attached to the stroller. www.babesta.com
