We are seriously having trouble keeping Skip Hop's awesome lunch boxes and bibs in stock, as they are so darn cute and well priced that they are literally flying out the doors. With animals for everyone – from a fantastic fox and adorable mouse to a busy bee and loyal pup, they are crowdpleasers, even if the tunafish sandwich inside isn't. www.babesta.com/skiphop

The 80s are back and so is the fringe. I've seen it on purses, boots (Isabel Marant has a pair of my faves), vests and pants. So it seems like a prime time for Icelandic brand Sunbird to take the U.S. by storm. We scoped this fringe happy brand about a year ago thanks to a client who was a fan of the brand abroad. As soon as we saw some pics, we know it was spot on for Babesta (especially the fringe-mohawk hoodie!). And in person, it's even better – we were thrilled with the high quality material and excellent fabrication. And it's not only about the fringe – we also love their tribal camo prints. Now, we've got it on the shelves at Threads and it's clear the kids are just as psyched as we are about the 80s inspired rock star line. Shop Sunbird Now.

I was so excited to see the Inouis on coolhunting.com, one of my favorite (for the last million years) sources for cool stuff. It's a well-made, up-to-snuff insert for your handbag that can organize everything and (hooray!) easily be removed and plunked into another purse or diaper bag or whathaveyou. I am trying to urge them to make a kid-friendly insert (read bottle holders, wipes pockets, changing pads) as I think that would be a Babesta-crowdpleaser! Check the non-kiddie version out here. . .
$350 in leather; $200 in textile.

Normally licensed characters are not my thing (obvs. rock legends are another thing altogether), but when I saw what boutique brand Misha Lulu did with Hello Kitty, well, she had me at Hello. The adorable floral prints, overalls, tees and dresses have vintage inspriation and are as sweet as a kitten on Sunday.
On the other side of Hello Kitty phenom, a friend just showed me KittyHell.com – funny play on words, and an astounding array of Kitty themed goods from tattoos to dentures to urinal cakes. Random, kinda gross. Now that I think about it, forget that I brought it up. Total ick.
Let's all just stick with Misha Lulu's pretty kitties.

We are totally excited to have the special collection by Mini Rodini and celeb stylist and costume designer B. Akerlund in the store (think Madonna, Lady Gaga, Britney). . . Replete with spooky clowns in party hats (I'm recalling B-movie masterpiece Killer Clowns from Outer Space), aweseome devil hoodies and oversized bow snaptees, Akerlund promises that baby's a real rebel with a cause – to be a rock star. Shop 'em here.

It's been a while since i've knit somthing (since the lopsided scarf I made for my husband that was the subject of ridicule for many years) but I am feeling like I have to break out the knitting needles and yarn. Apparently, the Taurunga oil spill in New Zealand left Little Blue Penguins and other of the species at risk of freezing, and a NZ based yarn store sent out an international call to the people for Penguin Sweaters to help them through. Patterns and instructions cam be found on Skeinz.com. The good news is, by the time you're done with your masterpiece, if all of the penguins are outfitted, and your sweater proves superfluous (probably each penguin only gets one) your sleeveless garment will make a great gift for a future baby shower.

This is a match made in heaven. Trust us, when mod-fabric king meets the innovators over at Skip Hop, magic happens. This will be THE must-have bag. We were lucky enough to preview the bag at the ABC Expo in September, and we'll have it in store as soon as it's released! Favorite design: The Wave Multi! Check out all Skip Hop here and all Jonathan Adler here . . .

It's so pretty, I am willing the warm weather to come, so that stylish little girls can step out in Anais and I's Spring collection. There are gorgeous liberty prints, great sweatshirt dresses and funky boys' pants. My fave: the white denim and blue gingham ensemble.
Come by the store at 66 West Broadway, or shop online at Babesta.
