Cool Baby Safety From Babesta

There is nothing cool about babies playing in the toilet. But boy is it irresistible. A friend of mine just sent out an email to all her cool mom friends asking what the deal is with toilet safety latches. She, like most of us, doesn't remember any toilet safety latches clamping down the loos of her childhood. And boy does her adorable dog LOVE drinking from the "other bathroom sink". A quandry indeed.

Thinking back, there was nothing preventing most of us from wreking havoc on our little toddler bods and endangering ourselves (except for our eagle eyed parents), but somehow we all got through it.

After a lot of input from a lot of moms, the concensus was that you know your own child and know if they would be tempted by lure of toilet water. Of course, any protective item is good and can alleviate a little bit of your inherent mom-stress (comes with the job). There are great baby proofers out there who will do the job for you -- anticipating and scouring your house for all possible dangers: temptress toilets, snakepits, tarantula lairs ....

Of course, that doesn't mean that your kid can run around the house unsupervised now that it's "safe". The eagle eyed mom is always the best solution.

That being said, I ask you, what to do about a mad love affair with bidets? An indoor sprinkler - fun for the smallest member of the family. Not only causing slipping-hazards, but downright gross. This tot was caught in the act and her parents caught it on tape. Do NOT attempt this at home.

Any questions, comments or anecdotes--feel free to post!! (and double click on our 'bidet baby'!)
